My First Trip To the Eye Doctor

I fell down on my bike in September and the wound got infected and came out my eye. A redness there distracted everyone I spoke to. I had to go to the eye doctor.

She had me look at a picture of a hot air balloon in a field. She adjusted the focus in and out, observing the reaction in my eyes.

She put me in a dark corner and shone a flashlight into my face. I watched her silhouette while she peered like an elf into my eyeball.

She washed both my eyes with clear liquid, and together we gazed at my mascara spilling into a tiny silver bowl.

welcome to my world, the land of the optically challenged. my coworker has taken to calling me "goggles" because my eyes are so sore from contact lens over drive that I'm finally making use of the glasses I never usually wear. eye doctors are more fun than dentists wouldn't you say?
